Additional Lodging-Specific Thresholds

  • Suspicious Items Found in Rooms: Including items found by a cleaning service, e.g., apparent bomb-making materials, photographs or notes indicating intelligence-gathering activities or other attack preparations.
  • Suspicious Food-Poisoning Incidents affecting Multiple Guests.
  • Suspicious Behavior by Guests: Including room requests/requirements, paying cash for rooms for very extended stays (especially for several rooms for a single party), unusual financial activity or guest comments noticed through reservations systems, extended period of time (e.g., three days or more) without requesting housekeeping or other services, that was reported to local, regional or federal counter-terrorism authorities and resulted in concrete follow-up actions by such authorities.
  • Suspicious Telecommunications Activity: Including Internet or telephone activity by guests detected by counter-terrorism authorities at any level of government and reported to the lodging facility by such authorities.
  • Suspicious Bookings: Including bookings by highly controversial or suspicious organizations that were reported to local, regional or federal counter-terrorism authorities and resulted in concrete follow-up actions by such authorities.
